Well. After a lot of conversations and soul searching, this is where I’ve ended up. I took off her makeup and reduced her smile, because nobody needs to be a people pleaser. I disappeared her more, so she’s now emerging from flowers rather than posing on them. I think that for me at least, that outdated idea of the “nude in the front bar” is no longer tenable. #degillett #degillettcox #notnude #coloursofexuberance

It seems a bit silly, but I was really struggling

It seems a bit silly, but I was really struggling with the lack of consent in showing this model’s breasts so fully to the world. ( see a few posts back) I mean, they’re magnificent, and I’m sure she’s proud of them. But in 2021, where we are so conscious of the male gaze and the consequences of the ownership inherent in it, I’m no longer comfortable. So now she has a barely there diaphanous drape, and at least she is in control of how much she reveals.
